Preparation of a shoot.

Tips and tricks for preparing for a shoot.

Disclaimer.

This input was inspired by a photographer friend of mine. For many, the topic may be “not” a topic, but for others it is. So here is a brief list:

Your personal preparation for the shoot:

You know yourself and your body best - so it's entirely up to you how you prepare for your shoot. Every person is unique and there is no “one-size-fits-all” solution. Decide for yourself which points are important to you and when it's best to prepare in order to approach the day feeling your best. After all, it's all about you - and the more comfortable you feel, the better results we will achieve.

Nail care:

Please make sure your fingernails (and toenails if necessary) are trimmed and groomed the day before the shoot. Hands and nails are often visible in photos - especially in portrait shots where you could also be barefoot. What may not be noticeable in everyday life can quickly catch the eye in a photo. A little hand cream can work wonders and make your skin look smooth and well-groomed.

Beard care:
For men, the topic of beards is also often an important issue. Whether you have a beard or are shaved - the most important thing is that you look well-groomed. Consider whether you can take care of your beard or shave yourself or whether it would make sense to make an appointment with a barber. Also treat yourself to some skin care before the shoot. Freshly shaved skin can sometimes appear irritated or reddish - a little face mask will soothe it. Don't forget to moisturize your lips - dry, chapped lips are often unflattering in photos. And a quick look in the mirror: nose hair and hair on the ears can stand out in photos, so consider whether you want to give these areas a quick trim.

Body care:
It's worth taking another look at your body hair and intimate hairstyle. Here too, there is no 'right' or 'wrong' - it has to suit you and feel good for you. If you want to shave or trim, it's best to do this a little earlier to give your skin enough time to calm down. This way you can avoid razor bumps or skin irritation.

Prepare well and you'll see: You will feel more relaxed on the day of the shoot and your natural radiance will be even more accentuated.

I look forward to creating something special with you!

The day of the shoot -

Your moment, your appearance

The time has come - the 'big' day has arrived! Maybe you still feel a little tingling in your stomach, maybe your nervousness is rising. Don't worry - that's completely normal! I promise you: as soon as we start, you will quickly relax and the energy will flow. Together we will create a relaxed atmosphere in which you can concentrate fully on the shoot.

Hair styling and make-up:
As a man, styling your hair is usually quick - although there are of course exceptions. You can relax and style your hair as usual or do it directly before the shoot. Make-up is not necessary for men - unless we want to cover up minor skin blemishes or optimize your complexion. We'll do this discreetly, without you looking like you're wearing make-up. The focus is on your natural look!

Clothing and pressure marks:
A little tip for the hours before the shoot: Avoid tight clothing, especially if we are taking nude photos. Tight belts, baseball caps, socks that are too tight or underwear quickly leave unsightly pressure marks that can be visible in the photos. If you wear glasses, think about whether you want to wear your glasses for the shoot or whether you would rather switch to contact lenses. Glasses that you don't want to wear later can also leave unsightly pressure marks - we want to avoid this.

Packing for the shoot:
Of course, good preparation also includes packing the right outfits. Remember to bring a selection of clothes that you really feel comfortable in and that you would like to have photographed. Feel free to bring several outfits, preferably in different colors and styles - depending on the theme of the shoot. We will discuss in advance whether it should be classic, fashionable, sporty, elegant, cheeky or sexy. This allows us to perfectly showcase your personal style.

Make sure that your shoes match the color of the outfits and are preferably freshly polished. If you want to bring underwear for the shoot, make sure that it is still in good condition. Holes or worn shorts are less advantageous in a photo. Check again that the clothes fit well, that everything is in shape and remove any labels from new items of clothing. It's always worth packing one outfit too many - just in case we spontaneously want to try something different.

Special care for special outfits:
Also remember to make sure that shirts and suits arrive as ironed and crease-free as possible. After all, you want everything to fit and look perfect!

I look forward to working with you on this special day. You are ready to look your best and I will make sure that you feel completely comfortable.

Be more - be you.
